چکیده
Introduction: Assessment of visual function is important for diagnosing ocular diseases. In the present study we are assessing different components functions like acuity, color vision, contrast sensitivity and stereoacuity at high altitude in Nepal. Methods: A cross- sectional quantitative was conducted Bargaun village an 3330 meters Humla district Western Detailed eye examination carried out participants consenting who were from Limatang villages Humla. Visual sensitivity, oxygen saturation measured. Convenience sampling done. Data entered excel, converted to a comma separated values format supplied regression analysis Python 3. T-tests done linear model fitted data determine relationship between independent dependent variables obtain coefficients relationship. Results: One hundred sixty four completed study. Among them, 60.37% 50 years age below. Oxygen 91 - 100% 64.63%, 81 90% 33.53% 70-80% 1.83% participants. Maximum number had acuity 0.48-1 (6/18-6/6). Contrast 10% 4.88%, 5% 23.17%, 2.5% 40.24% 1.25% 31.71%. Stereoacuity < 30 seconds arc 78.5%, 30-60 12.80% 9% decreased stereoacuity. Color vision 4.88%. Increase associated with decrease saturation, poorer (p value = 0.00). better which statistically significant Conclusions: reduced 35%, 2.44%, 28.05%, abnormal 4.88% residing

Platelet count and function at high altitude and in high-altitude pulmonary edema.
Platelet aggregation is the key process in primary hemostasis. Certain conditions such as hypoxia may induce platelet aggregation and lead to platelet sequestration primarily in the pulmonary microcirculation. We investigated the influence of high-altitude exposure on platelet function as part of a larger study on 30 subjects with a history of high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) and 10 healthy...
متن کاملCerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis Masquerading as High Altitude Cerebral Edema at Extreme Altitude
Introduction: Extreme altitude travel has gained popularity globally for adventurous, scientific, and military endeavors. Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) at extreme altitude is a rare, covert, and emergent condition requiring immediate intervention. Case Presentation: A case of CVST masqueraded as high altitude cerebral edema (HACE) at 6700 m/22000 ft i...
متن کاملHigh Altitude Stereo Visual Odometry
Stereo visual odometry has received little investigation in high altitude applications due to the generally poor performance of rigid stereo rigs at extremely small baseline-to-depth ratios. Without additional sensing, metric scale is considered lost and odometry is seen as effective only for monocular perspectives. This paper presents a novel modification to stereo based visual odometry that a...
متن کاملLipid Profiles, Glycated Hemoglobin, and Diabetes in People Living at High Altitude in Nepal
This study aimed to describe lipid profiles and the distribution of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in a sample of a high altitude population of Nepal and to explore associations between these metabolic risk variables and altitude. A cross-sectional survey of cardiovascular disease and associated risk factors was conducted among 521 people living at four different altitude levels, all above 2800 m,...
متن کاملOxygen saturation of hemoglobin in healthy children of 2-14 years at high altitude in Nepal.
BACKGROUND Individuals residing at higher altitude may have oxygen saturation of hemoglobin different to those living at lower altitude. OBJECTIVES To find out the baseline value of SpO2 in healthy Nepali children (2-14 years) living permanently at high altitude using pulse oximeter and also to study the relation of SpO2 with age, sex and ethnicity. METHODS A descriptive observational study...
